Queens, New York – Billiard industry giants Championship Cloth, Olhausen Tables, and Aramith Balls are joining together in support of the oldest tournament in billiards at the Predator 72nd World Tournament of Straight Pool. Championship Cloth has been selected as this year’s cloth for the first time, while Olhausen comes on board for the second straight year. Aramith has been the ball of choice for the event for all seven years now since the World Tournament’s revival in 2006.
The 2012 BEF Texas State Championship was not only to see who was the best 9-ball player in the state, but to also qualify one entry into the prestigious 24th Annual BEF Junior National 9-Ball Championship. A field of Texas junior veterans of past “œNationals” was present to compete for the title and for the one slot to take them to Romine’s High Pockets in Greenfield, Wisconsin to compete against the nations best junior billiard players this summer, July 11th- 15th.

Vegas Heats Up as the 36th BCAPL National Championship Rolls into Town
Las Vegas, NV. -  May 14, 2012 – The 36th BCAPL National Championships rolled into the Riviera Hotel and Casino Wednesday, May 10th. Approximately 7,000 players congregate each year in Las Vegas to compete in the event known as “œThe Greatest Pool Tournament in the World.”

BEF “œExcellence in Education” Scholarship($2,000 award)

 The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) is pleased to announce the 2012 recipients of its annual scholarship program. The objective of the BEF Academic Scholarship Program is to grant scholarships to high school seniors who have benefited from the sport of billiards and are pursuing a college education.
The scholarships are divided into two categories: BEF Excellence in Education scholarship ($2,000 award) and BEF Aiming for Higher Education scholarships (3 x $1,000 award).

The 2012 USBA National Three-Cushion Championship Tournament, played for the second consecutive year at the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel as part of the ACS national tournament week, ended in dramatic fashion as defending champion Pedro Piedrabuena overcame a twelve point deficit with a scorching finish to defeat Mazin Shooni 40 to 33 in 34 innings. With the victory, Piedrabuena not only defended his crown but also notched his 5th national championship title.
