Cong Nguyen (3-1) and Thanh Vu (4-0) played the final match of the tournament to determine the top winner. Cong finished the game in 14 innings with the best game average of 1.786.

The United States was host to the XIX World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) World Junior 9-Ball Championships on November 29th – December 1st. Junior billiard champions 19 years or younger traveled from around the globe to Reno, Nevada to compete for the world titles in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. Twenty different countries from six continents were represented, and at the end of the tournament, North America dominated the girls’ division with a gold and silver medal, while the boys’ division claimed a silver medal. The United States Pool Players Association (USPPA) and Rail Bird Project produced this prestigious junior event alongside the WPA World Wheelchair 9-Ball Championships at the Peppermill Resort.
New Divisions and More Money Added to 18th U.S. Bar Table Championships in 2011
In 2011 the U.S. Bar Table Championships will be expanded to include Women’s 10-Ball and Women’s All Around bonuses. Event producer, CueSports International (CSI), is also adding more money to total $25,250 added. Celebrating its 18th anniversary, the event will be held February 21-27, 2011 at the tournament’s long time host location, Terrible’s Sands Regency Casino Hotel in Reno, Nevada.
SPECIAL OUTREACH IN EGYPT!!
Several months ago Steve Lillis, founder of Gospel Trick Shot Ministries, referred me to Maged Fawzy, leader of KDEC Sports Ministry, which has a very special outreach around Egypt and the Middle East. Maged asked me if I could attend a family / youth sports festival at a retreat center in Beit el Wadi, Egypt (about 1.5 hours north of Cairo). He wanted me to perform several shows and share my billiard journey / personal testimony with the attendees. The “œWadi Experience”, as I now call it, had an amazing impact on my understanding of open eyes, open ears, open minds, and open hearts and the special needs that take residence in them. What happened in Wadi is hard to explain in words! Following is my account of this special journey!

KARL BOYES was the man at the Partycasino.com Mosconi Cup on Saturday afternoon as he got Europe on level terms twice; first with a 5-1 win in the company of Mika Immonen over Dennis Hatch and Johnny Archer and then a 5-2 victory over Rodney Morris in the singles.

DARREN Appleton believes Europe has the best pool players in the world and that will lead to a home victory in this year’s PartyCasino.com Mosconi Cup.
Appleton is part of the European side aiming to retain the trophy this week after slumping to a disappointing 11-7 defeat in Las Vegas in 2009.
However, Appleton believes that loss will serve as a ‘reality check’ and claims his side were complacent and not motivated enough last year.
“œThe problem last year was we all expected to win and that’s the wrong attitude to have, especially in pool as the game requires luck at the right time,” said Appleton.
