Women’s Professional Billiard Association Appoints 3 New Board of Director Members
The WPBA welcomes several new members to the organizations board of directors.
“The new board members are well respected in the billiard community, and with their diverse expertise they will be a great addition to WPBA’s leadership, helping to guide the organization toward its vision,” says Vice President Dawn Hopkins.
Bruce Barthelette of South Hadley Massachusetts, has been around pool since the age of four. He and his wife Ann have owned and operated an American Poolplayers Association (APA) league franchise for 25 years, currently the 2nd largest amateur pool league for the APA in the country with over 6000 players. They also owned a Taylor Rental franchise and Bruce was an employee for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for 15 years. As a player, his experience is extensive, landing Bruce the opportunity to author the book Knack Pool and Billiards. Impressive career highlights include championship titles in the 2006, 2008 and 2009 World Cup of Trick Shots for Team USA, many ESPN appearances and his induction into the 2011 New England Billiards Hall of Fame.
Kim White-Newsome, an exempt WPBA player rejoined the WPBA Board in September of 2013. She has been a top-ranked WPBA Touring Professional since 2001 and is a former WPBA Board President and Vice President (2005-07). Aside from her successful playing career, she is the executive director of numerous billiard tours and independent events.
Micaela Dames of Wall Township, New Jersey was an active regional tour player for many years. Along with Barbara Stock, for three years she co-produced the Northeast Women’s Tour (NEWT). Many past and current touring pros received their jump start to the WPBA from the NEWT, her knowledge of the regional circuit will be a valuable asset to the WPBA Board of Directors. Micaela was a regular attendee of WPBA events since the “Classic tour” began. She is a graduate of Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. For over 30 years Micaela has worked as a Title Searcher for Commonwealth Title Insurance Co- Monmouth Agency in Freehold, New Jersey.
