Here is why:

VISIBILITY – with no sides to block light, spaces between balls are easier to find – and you can position the rack where it is easier to see (near the end rail) and then move it into place without disturbing the balls.

FINGERS OUT OF THE RACK – taking them (or your opponents) out of the game eliminates one major variable.

SIZE MATTERS – uneven ball wear is a major source of variability (think trying to make a rack with quarters and nickels). Rather than using fingers or mechanical devices – we offer two racks designed specifically for typical ball diameters.

CLEAN LIFT – less interference when removing the rack; plus if you do move a ball just drop the rack back on and it’s right again.

POSITIONING – with no sides it is easier to be sure of the position over the spot – and easier to position the rack parallel to the end rail with a simple pencil mark. Over time micro dots in the cloth will help guide balls in place.

LESS WEAR ON TABLE AND SPOT – no moving back and forth to tighten up balls. Keeping the spot and cloth in good condition is more important than most players realize.
