The Viking Cue 9-Ball Amateur-Advanced and Amateur Tour rolled into Break Time Billiards in Wilmington, NC

The Viking Cue 9-Ball Amateur-Advanced and Amateur Tour rolled into Break Time Billiards in Wilmington, NC for the weekend of May 30-31st where 64 players from around the region participated in the $1500 Added Events. Break Time Billiards which is contained in a 37,000 sq ft building and houses a bowling alley, restaurant, arcade as well as the billiard room graciously added the monies for this weekend’s event.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Amateur-Advanced Division presented several excellent matches as participants, spectators as well as viewers on-line where able to watch all the action that was live streamed by The Tournament Guide Magazine. The event was played on 9ft tables and the race was to 9 games. The Amateur- Advanced Division was won by local favorite Larry Faulk. Faulk had made his way thru the bottom of the brackets undefeated and claimed first place after defeating Eddie Little 9-8 in the finals. Faulk had began his trek to first by defeating Gabe Grisson 9-2; Gerry Shepard 9-2; Dennis Crandell 9-4; T Adul-Ghani 9-7; Zach Wilson 9-5.
Eddie Little
Eddie Little began his trek to finals in the top of the brackets and defeated Brain Stebbins 9-1; Larry Pierce 9-7 before he was sent to the left side of the chart by Zach Wilson 9-4, once on the one loss side Little proceeded to eliminate the following on his way back to the finals: Jeremy Synder 9-1; Jason Coache9-2; T Abdul-Ghani 9-0; Larry Pierce 9-5;
Little would face Zach Wilson once again in the semi finals and this time Little was not going home, he defeated Wilson 9-4. Sending Little back to the right side of the chart to face Larry Faulk in the finals.

The Viking Cue 9-Ball Amateur Tour kicked off on Sunday and presented some very equally matched competitors. The event was also played on 9ft tables and the race was 5 games. Jody Musselman from Virginia would take home the first place prize money. Musselman began his trek to first by defeating Caleb Grissom 5-0; Trey Greene 5-2; Irvin Brockman 5-2; David Walker 5-3; before he was sent to the one loss side by Tim Long 5-2; once on the one loss side Musselman would face Lupe Hernandez in the semi finals. Musselman was able to defeat Hernandez 5-3 for his shot at Tim Long in the finals.

Musselman would return to the finals to face Long again, this time he had to defeat Long twice in the true double elimination format that is standard for The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tours. Musselman defeated Long 5-2 in set one and 5-4 in set two to claim 1st in The Viking Cue 9-Ball Amateur Tour.
Tim Long had made his way thru the top of the brackets undefeated until he faced Musselman in the final. Long began his trek to the finals by defeating Doyle Retherford 5-0; Gabe Grissom 5-2; Steve Nash 5-4; Jimmy Barthule’ 5-4; and Jody Musselman 5-2 in the match for the hot seat.
