The USBA Qualifier held at 5K Billiards in Morton Grove, IL

The USBA Qualifier held at 5K Billiards in Morton Grove, IL on Sunday 7/10/22 went on without a glitch. All 20 Players that competed played their hearts out.

The format consisted of 4 round robin flights of 5 players. Matches were played on 4 Verhoeven & 2 Soren Sogaard 5 x 10 tables.

All 4 flights wound down to a dramatic final match that had Olegario González defeat Hector Pulido 25-23 to clinch his place in the Nationals. Flight D had Jong Lee best Luis C. alias “Zanetti”. Flight C had veteran competitor Brian Haff triumph over up and comer Carlos Linares to advance.

Lastly, Detroit top shot Jose De La Torre played the best match of the day defeating room owner Henry Ugartechea by a score of 25-9 in 13 innings ruining Henry’s hopes for advancing to the Nationals and handing Noe Lara the berth.
