After playing in pool leagues for the past 20 years and giving players the chance to play in a home grown cash league the opportunity to build TAP in Southwestern Ontario came along.  As we enter into our 9th year we reflect on our growth and pleasures we have received from being part of the TAP family.

   Cochran’s One Pocket tournament in 1962
   Johnston City One Pocket division in 1970
   Red’s Open One Pocket in1984

2013 marks the 50 year anniversary of J. Pechauer Custom Cues

In 1961 Jerry Pechauer was working under a truck mechanic apprenticeship for the International Harvester Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  A fellow employee there shared an interest in pool and they played a match.  A wager was made and Jerry was victorious.  But rather than accepting money he received a broken Willie Hoppe cue as his prize

After playing in another league for about 15 years TAP came to the Atlanta area in 2003. My team and I looked at the rules and decided we wanted to try something slightly different....

Dennis Orcollo wins the first “Big Foot” 10 Ball

Day eight of the 15th Derby City Classic saw the completion of the “œBig Foot” 10 Ball event.  Ronnie Alcano and Johnny Archer eliminated but each going home with $5,000. The final was Niels Feijen versus Dennis Orcollo. Niels would take and early lead but see it disappear as Dennis came charging back it what looked to be blow out match. But Niels kept grinding it out but came up short at 9 to 11. Dennis Orcollo wins the first “œBig Foot” 10 Ball and takes home the $20,000 prize money. Niels Feijen takes second and the $10,000.

When the smoke cleared Alex Pagulayan was moving on to the final. The up and down final at 5 to 5 saw Alex take the lead and with a 9 to 6 win becoming the 2013 9 Ball Champion.  Francisco Bustamante, the 2013 Banks Champion would also take home the $20,000 Master of the Table. Bustamante’s finished first in the Banks, second in One pocket and 6thin the 9 Ball.
