On Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, 2012, the first Doggin’ It for Charity Pool Tournament was held in Temecula, California, to benefit the ongoing efforts of the Animal Rescue Kompany (A.R.K.). Hosted by High Society Billiards and Dart of Temecula, California, owner Kelly Ferree and his son Brian were on-hand as pool players from San Diego, Riverside, Orange County and Glendale, California, came out to show their skills and support this event.

Big Success for “œChalk up for a Cause” Fundraiser Event at Felt
November 5, 2012 (Englewood, CO): Â On Saturday, November 3 the SoRewarding Crew arrived at Felt Billiards in Englewood, Colorado setting up decorations, raffle prizes and t-shirts to prepare for a fun day fundraising. Chalkboard signs throughout the room with sayings like, “œParty for a Purpose,” set the tone for the 4-hour event. The crew was on a mission to raise money for the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) and that’s exactly what they did.
DARREN APPLETON WINS 2012 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
“œThis is the toughest tournament in the world,” said an elated Darren Appleton moments after capturing the 2012 International Challenge of Champions title. The pressure packed $25,000 winner-take-all event was held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, October 23. Appleton, from England, defeated Shane Van Boening of the USA by a thumping score of 5-1 and 5-1 in the final match, and was crowned “œChampion of Champions” for an incredible second year in a row. The two semifinals and the Championship match were taped by ESPN for telecast beginning December 9.

TAP League Nationals to Be Held in Charleston
The TAP league, one of the largest and fastest growing amateur billiard leagues in the United States, will be making a encore appearance for their national championships from November 3rd thru the 6th at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in North Charleston. TAP last held their nationals there in 2009 and the players loved the area so much that TAP has decided to make a return trip back.

Pedro Wins USBA Tour Open in Houston
What an exciting day for Houston’s billiard community. For the first time the USBA would hold an Open Tournament attracting some of the best players in the country including current US National Champion Pedro Piedrabuena. Twenty-eight players prepared to do battle over three days with the promise of an extremely excting final.
