Big Success for “œChalk up for  a Cause” Fundraiser Event at Felt

November 5, 2012 (Englewood, CO):  On Saturday, November 3 the SoRewarding Crew arrived at Felt Billiards in Englewood, Colorado setting up decorations, raffle prizes and t-shirts to prepare for a fun day fundraising. Chalkboard signs throughout the room with sayings like, “œParty for a Purpose,” set the tone for the 4-hour event. The crew was on a mission to raise money for the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) and that’s exactly what they did.

“œThis is the toughest tournament in the world,” said an elated Darren Appleton moments after capturing the 2012 International Challenge of Champions title. The pressure packed $25,000 winner-take-all event was held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, October 23.  Appleton, from England, defeated Shane Van Boening of the USA by a thumping score of 5-1 and 5-1 in the final match, and was crowned “œChampion of Champions” for an incredible second year in a row. The two semifinals and the Championship match were taped by ESPN for telecast beginning December 9.

The United States Billiard Association (USBA) will hold the 2013 Three-Cushion National Championship at the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo (SBE) from April 3 to 7, 2013, at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison.

FOLLOWING on from his undefeated run through the recent US Open 9 Ball Championship, SHANE VAN BOENING cemented his place at the head of the American 2012 PartyPoker.com Mosconi Cup rankings to secure his spot on the team as one of the top two automatic spots.

The TAP league, one of the largest and fastest growing amateur billiard leagues in the United States, will be making a encore appearance for their national championships from November 3rd thru the 6th at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in North Charleston. TAP last held their nationals there in 2009 and the players loved the area so much that TAP has decided to make a return trip back.

The Asian contingent was strong, but not invincible at Emerald Billiards

With the inclusion of Wang Can, all the Asians are out of the tournament. The Championship Cloth 5th Annual Pro Classic events are a pro 9-Ball and 10-Ball event during October 16th-20th, 2012.

New Iberia, Louisiana- #16 seed Thorsten Hohmann of Germany took down #1 seed Shane Van Boening of USA on Day 1 of the Championship Cloth 5th Annual Pro Classic.  The Dragon Promotions Pro Classic events are a pro 9-Ball and 10-Ball event during October 16th-20th, 2012. The events take place side by side to the Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open all hosted by Emerald Billiards and produced by Dragon Promotions.

ALSO New Iberia, Louisiana-  18 year old sensation Wang Can of China continues wowing fans and players, this time with a 9-6 win over legendary Johnny Archer. Wang is making the most out of his trip so far with his money finish at The Johnny Archer Classic and continues with his streak in Louisiana.
