The stunned defending high school champions, the South Garland Colonels, had watched in agony as their (27-25) match lead against the Yellowjackets in the final round of play slipped away to bring the match even (27-27) with only one game left to play.

The two best BETTER High School Billiard Program teams in the Dallas, Texas area were ready and set for action at AMF Richardson Lanes on May 22^nd, 2012. The competitive game they played was 9-ball and they were playing a total of 55 games and were racing to 28 to win the coveted title of “œ2012 BEF Texas High School Billiard Finals” champions.

Arriving to the final eight undefeated were defending champion Allison Fisher, with a 9-3 victory over Jennifer Barretta; national junior champ Brittany Bryant over Taiwan’s Jennifer Chen 9-3; Norway’s Line Kjorsvik over Californian Melissa Herndon 9-5, and Gerda Hofstatter, six months pregnant with her second child, over Atlanta’s Helena Thornfeldt 9-4!

Queens, New York – Billiard industry giants Championship Cloth, Olhausen Tables, and Aramith Balls are joining together in support of the oldest tournament in billiards at the Predator 72nd World Tournament of Straight Pool. Championship Cloth has been selected as this year’s cloth for the first time, while Olhausen comes on board for the second straight year. Aramith has been the ball of choice for the event for all seven years now since the World Tournament’s revival in 2006.

The 2012 BEF Texas State Championship was not only to see who was the best 9-ball player in the state, but to also qualify one entry into the prestigious 24^th Annual BEF Junior National 9-Ball Championship. A field of Texas junior veterans of past “œNationals” was present to compete for the title and for the one slot to take them to Romine’s High Pockets in Greenfield, Wisconsin to compete against the nations best junior billiard players this summer, July 11th- 15th.
