The All-Around Champion (Master of the Table) was named Saturday night after the 9-ball semi-final matches. Shane Van Boening, winning the One Pocket Division and by winning one of the 9-ball semi-finals (guaranteeing a minimum of 2nd place) locked down the title of Master of the Table. The runner up for Master of the table was Alex Pagulayan the winner of the Banks Division. Shane received $20,000 for Master of the Table.
The American Cuemakers Association
The American Cuemakers Association (ACA) is proud to announce its latest inductee into the ACA Hall of Fame and its 2011 “Cuemaker of the Year.” The ACA was formed in 1992 to promote the American made cue as a unique collectable art form, to establish a standard of excellence in the art of cuemaking, to educate the public, and to work with other organizations whose objectives are compatible with those of the ACA.

Gary Murgia wins at Sandcastle Billiards’ B/D Tri-State event. Gary remained undefeated throughout the tournament. His trail to victory, included wins over Soner Bulut 7 – 3; Antonio Navarro 8 – 7; Brian Cap 7 – 5; Peter Brennan 7 – 6;Â and Pat DiBuono, who is no stranger to the winner’s circle, 7 – 3 for the Hot Seat.
CSI Now Accepts Online Registration for Independent Events
CueSports International (CSI) announces players are now able to register online for all upcoming independent events via the CueSports Tournament System (CTS) website (www.ctsondemand.com).
The online registration section of CTS went live Friday, January 7th.
Online registration is now available for the following events:

“¢ The 18th U.S. Bar Table Championships
Players who register must pay their online entries by credit card using a Visa or Mastercard. All players will be sent an auto-generated email confirmation for each event they register for.
2011 Music City 9-Ball Open
Tournament Director Steve McDonald had a busy weekend as 83 open division players and 27 ladies division players showed up for the competition that was held on 7-foot Diamond Smart Tables with Simonis Cloth. With 28 Diamond Bar Tables, JOB’ provides the perfect venue for the event, as they can handle a large number of players with ease.
And this was one of the strongest fields ever for this event in both the Open Division and the Ladies Division.
The Pearl” Heads to UAE for 2011 World 8-Ball Championship

After a 3 year hiatus from the world pool stage, legend Earl “œthe Pearl” Strickland is back and in prime form. “œThe Pearl” will once again be representing the United States in the World 8-Ball Championships February 19-26, 2011 in the United Arab Emirates.
Sponsored by Mike Gulyassy Custom Cues, Ice Breakers Billiards, and CueSports International (CSI), Strickland received his well earned invite to the world 8-Ball event due to his stellar comeback throughout the past year. In 2010, he started the year winning the 8-Ball division of the U.S. Bar Table Championships and ended the year winning the Steve Mizerak Championship and tied for 7-8th in the Turning Stone Classic XVI.

PLEASANT, MI – The WPBA Masters enjoyed a thrilling conclusion when Jasmin Ouschan of Austria defeated veteran professional and #3 ranked Karen Corr, the “Irish Invader” by the narrowest of margins! Darren Appleton has won the 2010 Player of the Year honors from AZBilliards. He was the number one money winner for the year and took home in excess of $118,000 for his efforts, but it was his consistency and his ability to come through with clutch shots when they were needed most that truly made him the undeniable choice for the year.
Appleton’s year began with a team loss in the Asia Vs Europe Challenge but he quickly bounced back with a victory in the World Team Championship in Hanover, Germany. He took second place honors in the 8-Ball division at the US Bar Table Championships and then traveled over to the UAE for a third place finish in the World 8-Ball Championships.
