El Sayed Claims 2009 USSA National Snooker Championship
The United States Snooker Association (USSA) conducted the 2009 United States Snooker Championship in Brooklyn, NY, at the Prince Snooker Club, May 21-24. Twenty-four of the country’s best snooker stars crossed cues over the 6′ x 12′ behemoths under the direction of USSA Executive Director Alan Morris.

Denver, Colorado June 22, 2009: On May 17th, 2009 The Wynkoop Brewing Company located in Downtown Denver held their annual BEF Junior Nationals qualifier.
The American CueSports Alliance (ACS) celebrated its fifth annual National Championships at the Riviera Casino in Las Vegas with its most positive event to date. The vast smorgasbord of divisions and events in which competitors of all skill levels could compete was mind-boggling”¦with the Valley Cougar tables provided by High Country Promotions packed with play on most days of the May 31-June 6 spectacle! New names sprinkled the lesser-skilled “œStandard” lists of winners, while many of the traditional champions in the higher-skilled levels added to their legends.
There were 40 players from different states across the country as well as from Mexico and Ecuador. In all, there were at least 15 players that have established averages of at least 1.000 and only 10 players would be able to qualify into the finals. That’s how tough the field was. There were also some upsets which changed the outcome dramatically.
Rubilen Amit Crowned JBETpoker.net Women’s World 10-Ball Champion
Manila, Philippines- The Philippines can now claim to be a force in women’s pool as well as men’s, now that Filipina Rubilen Amit has captured the JBETpoker.net Women’s World 10-Ball Championship. After 5 days of hard fought play with 48 women from around the world, the dust settled with only Amit standing.

Charlie “œHillbilly” Bryant again on top of the hill
On the weekend of June 6 and 7, Casper’s Billiards in San Leon, Texas celebrated its first anniversary by hosting the fourth stop on the 2009 Lone Star Billiards Tour. This event drew a strong field of 51 players, including touring professionals Charlie Bryant, Jeremy Jones, and Cliff Joyner, and an international champion from Jordan, Zaid Thweib. Other pre-tournament favorites included regional standouts: Sylver Ochoa, Raul Escobedo, Lanny Herrin, Dennis Strickland, Manuel Ayala, and Ernesto Bayaua.

On May 30-31, the Predator 9-ball Tour took over Master Billiards in Queens, NY, for tour stop #7, their third ABCD event of the season. This event attracted 60 of the best amateurs from around the New York area, such as John Alicea, Michael Yednak, Dan Cintron, Jose Cruz, and Jay Chiu.
