Cheaters Never Win

Cheaters Never Win

The Ref Stop
Cheaters Never Win
By Bob Hunt
<br />
Have you ever thought about destiny?   Destiny is a vivid force in pool.  You know what I mean, when you slipped and privately bumped the cue ball, shot anyway and missed. Maybe you accidentally moved a ball that ended up in a good spot for you and failed to mention it.  You lost anyway or gave your opponent ball in hand because of something stupid.  That is destiny for cheaters.   Destiny is Mother Nature’s way to make things right.  Maybe a guilty conscious or a mysterious aura is at work.  I do not know, it just happens.  Players that cheat usually cannot win by skillful means.  So if you are worried about a cheater beating you, just let it go and win by destiny.  Of course, you should let the ref know so we can look out for those characters.  I love to catch them.  Make my day!

Dragon Promotions Agrees to Sanction with the WPA

It is unfortunate that Mr Gre Leenders a representative of the EPBF and the World Pool Association (WPA) would release such a misleading and inaccurate statement as he did during the midst of contract negotiations. It is apparent that the person responsible has been misdirected and lacked information. It is our hope that such a haste and inconsiderate action has not tainted the world of billiards.
Considering the current global economic climate and detrimental state of the billiard world, the production of a new event such as our Women’s World 10-Ball Championship would boost our industry with encouragement and that we would be a welcomed relief to the sport.

Runner-up Paul Kimura (L) and Champion Yi Fei Mei (R)

The United States Snooker Association (USSA) continues to rejuvenate snooker in the United States in 2009 with its inaugural USSA National Snooker Tour, and the fourth stop on the Tour at Embassy Billiards Club – directed by USSA director Richard Ham – in San Gabriel, CA, February 17-19, enjoyed a full 12-player field. With a handicap system applied for this particular event, four round-robin preliminary flights determined the eight players for the final rounds. Each player received or gave a “start”, based on his handicap (example: a player with a “-26” gave a six point start to a player with a “-20” each frame of their match). Ye Fei Mei of San Gabriel, CA was the highest-handicapped player (-38) and thus considered the strongest player in the field based on past history. The preliminary round featured 2-frame matches among each opponent, for a total of four frames played per player within each flight:”¨”¨[Numbers indicate win/loss record in frames in prelims]
