The World Professional Billiard League launched the inaugural 2013 season at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV last night to a packed house. The season’s first match-up featured the New York Pride against the Atlanta Scorpions.
Corey Deuel Captures National Snooker Championship Title
Corey Deuel has made a successful transformation to snooker as the former U.S. Open 9-Ball Pool Champion has now added the 2013 United States National Snooker Championship title to his collection with victory at Snooker 147 Bar & Grill in Houston, Texas.
It has been an incredible event for the 35-year-old from Florida as he was fortunate to qualify from the group phase after suffering two defeats out of four matches, placing runner-up to the five-time champion Tom Kollins, but he slowly forged his way into the Championship and gathered momentum with each match played to reach the final against the defending champion, Sargon Isaac.

JENNIFER BARRETTA NAMED AS WPBL ALTERNATE
The World Professional Billiard League has announced that top female pro Jennifer Barretta has signed to play for the Los Angeles Wave as an alternate. Barretta who has been playing professionally for 10 years, will be the first woman to compete amongst the league’s current roster, consisting of 59 of the world’s top male players.
16 YEAR OLD AND WORLD CHAMPION AMONGST WPBL’S NEW ALTERNATES
The World Professional Billiard League has expanded its previous roster of 48 players (36 fulltime and 12 alternate) to 60 by adding a second alternate to each team. The WPBL season will kick off Thursday May 30th at 6pm PST with a free live broadcast from the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
