DARREN APPLETON WINS 2012 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

“œThis is the toughest tournament in the world,” said an elated Darren Appleton moments after capturing the 2012 International Challenge of Champions title. The pressure packed $25,000 winner-take-all event was held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, October 23.  Appleton, from England, defeated Shane Van Boening of the USA by a thumping score of 5-1 and 5-1 in the final match, and was crowned “œChampion of Champions” for an incredible second year in a row. The two semifinals and the Championship match were taped by ESPN for telecast beginning December 9.

USBA CHAMPIONSHIP TO SUPER BILLIARDS EXPO IN 2013

The United States Billiard Association (USBA) will hold the 2013 Three-Cushion National Championship at the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo (SBE) from April 3 to 7, 2013, at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison.

TAP League Nationals to Be Held in Charleston

The TAP league, one of the largest and fastest growing amateur billiard leagues in the United States, will be making a encore appearance for their national championships from November 3rd thru the 6th at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in North Charleston. Simonis $500 Challenge to Raise Money for the Juniors

Nationals Juniors Pool Month may have been in September but the fundraising efforts continue. Last month, Simonis Cloth made a $500 contribution to the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) in support of their national campaign. In addition to their kind donation, Simonis also proposed a challenge to the industry and players.

The events take place side by side to the Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open all hosted by Emerald Billiards and produced by Dragon Promotions.

Wang is making the most out of his trip so far with his money finish at The Johnny Archer Classic and continues with his streak in Louisiana. Marietta, Georgia-  Long time veteran Warren Kiamco did what so few players have ever been able to do, completely dominate America’s top player Shane Van Boening in the finals. Van Boening who is so accustomed to winning on US soil, was completely hammered by the smooth, finesse style of Kiamco.  The Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic is a Dragon Promotions production and sanctioned by the Association Of Billiard Professionals as an ABP International Points Ranking Tournament and hosted by the Marietta Billiard Club.

Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic: Wan Can Do It!

Marietta, Georgia-  The Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic kicked off today with 55 players in the field from around the globe. Though there were some great highlights, the standout match of the day had to be China’s young prodigy Can Wan defeating seasoned World Champion Thorsten Hohmann in a thrilling hill hill match on the Inside Pool TV stream. The Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic is sanctioned by the Association Of Billiard Professionals as an ABP International Points Ranking Tournament.
