The past two years CueSports International (CSI) analyzed the growth of player’s skill levels at the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships and decided to create a new rating classification: the Advanced Division.
World’s Largest Pool League Awards League Operator of the Year Awards
LAKE SAINT LOUIS, MO (June 22, 2010) — The American Poolplayers Association (APA) recognized five of their top franchisees with League Operator of the Year awards during the APA Annual Convention in late April in Las Vegas. The five were selected from a group of more than 260 League Operators throughout North America with one League Operator selected from each market size.
Now that the BCAPL National event is concluded for 2010, CSI is resuming the monthly email of all CSI / BCAPL produced and or affiliated state, regional and independent (open to all player) events. CueSports International (CSI), under its BCA Pool League division, is proudly sponsoring 13 young players to participate in the 22nd Annual Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) Junior National 9-Ball Championships. This prestigious event is being held July 7-11, 2010 at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and includes 4 divisions: Boys 14 and Under, Boys 19 and Under, Girls 14 and Under and Girls 19 and Under.
Just before the end of the school year, Allenwood Elementary School, located in Temple Hills, Maryland and in keeping with the schools motto “Allenwood is ENGAGED”,hosted their Career Awareness Day for all of their students.
Mrs. Lakeshia Morgan the shools Professional Counselor/Career Coordinator, orchestrated the event and said “There is no time like the present to make our children aware of the different and exciting career opportunities available to them”. The schools purpose is to help students, by displaying the personal characteristics and attitudes to become successful.

Starting next week players, vendors, and the industry press will be converging at the Riviera Hotel & Casino for two weeks of the best pool competition staged in the United States, the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships (May 14-22).
As in the past several years, two premier pro events will take place alongside the BCAPL Nationals, one of which is the much anticipated 2010 U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship which takes place May 17-22 in the Royale Pavilion Pro Arena of the Riviera. The event has attracted an astounding list of 128 players from all over North America and across the globe vying for the $89,000 purse.
U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship Qualifier Winners Vegas Bound
Eight qualifiers were held for the 2010 U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship. Produced by CueSports International (CSI), the main event is scheduled May 17-22, 2010 at the Riviera Hotel & Casino and attracted both men and women players from across the globe vying for the $89,000 purse.

To participate in the BEF Junior Nationals, players must earn an entry through a BEF qualifier or must be appointed by their local junior league. The national event features 4 divisions: 19 & Under Boys, 19 & Under Girls, 14 & Under Boys, and 14 & Under Girls. Qualifiers will be held throughout the United States through the month of June. The BEF is accepting nominations and offering player invitations for the girls’ divisions. The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) was honored to be part of the grand opening of the Challenger Learning Center held at the Unser Discovery Campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 6, 2010.
The BEF made the 9-ball on the break when legendary race car driver Al Unser and his wife Susan invited billiards to be a part of their benefit celebration to launch their newest addition to the Unser Discovery Campus, the Challenger Learning Center. The billiard festivities included challenge matches with WPBA touring pros and BEF Executive Director Laura Smith and Director of Program Development Dawn Hopkins. BEF President Tom Riccobene, who was also recently named as a Top CEO in New Mexico for his business, was also in attendance for the gala.
