Nationals Juniors Pool Month may have been in September but the fundraising efforts continue. Last month, Simonis Cloth made a $500 contribution to the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) in support of their national campaign. In addition to their kind donation, Simonis also proposed a challenge to the industry and players.

By sending out this information, the ABP suggested that all 3 events have sanctioned or recognized the ABP. That is NOT TRUE. The only event that actually recognized the ABP was the first event. This type of release misleads and confuses the players and the fans.

Chicago, Illinois-  The Association of Billiard Professionals is pleased to announce the updated rankings for the ABP. Currently USA’s Mike Dechaine of Maine leads the USA men’s pro tour. Last year’s #1 ranked Shane Van Boening of South Dakota, USA is in close second place and India’s Raj Hundal is in third place being the highest ranked Indian in pool history thus far.  Stevie Moore, Dennis Hatch, Brandon Shuff, Shawn Putnam, and Corey Deuel round out the top 8.

John convinced me I should play 8 Ball for the “œother” league as a diversion from my job working with adults with disabilities in a Community Experience Program.

BEF Launches a Month to Play for the Sport’s Future Stars!

August 10, 2012 (Denver, CO): The Billiard Education Foundation announces September as official Juniors Pool Month across the country. Under new direction, the nonprofit organization is reaching out to pool enthusiasts from coast to coast to help raise money for junior pool programs, including leagues, tournaments, and scholarships and pool in school programs.

This year’s edition will take place August 20th-24th once again at Robinson’s Galleria Mall, which has now become synonymous for creating the dynamic atmosphere of the coveted championship. Robinson’s Galleria is connected to the host hotel Crowne Plaza Galleria. An elite 48 world class pros and international women superstars will attend the event to fight it out. With the one goal in mind: to become the World Champion of 10-Ball.

Las Vegas, NV. – June 13, 2012 – The “2012 – 2014 Official Rules of the BCA Pool League” was released June 1, 2012, the beginning of the new BCAPL and USAPL league year. The most noted change for the newly released publication is the lifting of the restriction on the use of the phenolic tips on break cues. Below is the newly added language in the 2012-2014 edition, quoted from section 9d of the Equipment Specifications section:

“The cue tip must be composed of leather, fibrous, or pliable material.”
