BILLIARD EDUCATION FOUNDATION AWARDS 2010 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) Academic Scholarship Program is pleased to announce the 2010 recipients of its annual scholarship program.  The scholarships are divided into two categories: BEF Excellence in Education scholarship ($5,000 awarded over a two-year term) and BEF Aiming for Higher Education scholarships (7 x $1,000 award). The objective of the BEF Academic Scholarship Program is to grant scholarships to high school seniors who have benefited from the sport of billiards and are pursuing a college education.

Champions Crowned at 2010 Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open

Jeff Beckley of Indiana New Iberia, Louisiana- The 5th Annual Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open crowned a new set of champions this year in its 8-Ball and 9-Ball divisions. Players from Las Vegas all the way to Tampa,Florida came to be crowned the Ozone US Amateur Champion. 155 entrants vied in all the events to capture their share of the $20,000 purse available.

APA RECOGNIZES TOP LEAGUE OPERATORS

World’s Largest Pool League Awards League Operator of the Year Awards

LAKE SAINT LOUIS, MO (June 22, 2010) “” The American Poolplayers Association (APA) recognized five of their top franchisees with League Operator of the Year awards during the APA Annual Convention in late April in Las Vegas.  The five were selected from a group of more than 260 League Operators throughout North America with one League Operator selected from each market size.

CSI / BCA Pool League Proudly Sponsor Players to 2010 Junior Nationals

CueSports International (CSI), under its BCA Pool League division, is proudly sponsoring 13 young players to participate in the 22nd Annual Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) Junior National 9-Ball Championships. This prestigious event is being held July 7-11, 2010 at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and includes 4 divisions: Boys 14 and Under, Boys 19 and Under, Girls 14 and Under and Girls 19 and Under.

Promoting this life-time sport through the youthful generation.

Just before the end of the school year, Allenwood Elementary School, located in Temple Hills, Maryland and in keeping with the schools motto “œAllenwood is ENGAGED”,hosted their Career Awareness Day for all of their students.

Mrs. Lakeshia Morgan the shools Professional Counselor/Career Coordinator, orchestrated the event and said “œThere is no time like the present to make our children aware of the different and exciting career opportunities available to them”. The schools purpose is to help students, by displaying the personal characteristics and attitudes to become successful.

Full 128 Player List and Payouts For 2010 U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship

Starting next week players, vendors, and the industry press will be converging at the Riviera Hotel & Casino for two weeks of the best pool competition staged in the United States, the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships (May 14-22).

As in the past several years, two premier pro events will take place alongside the BCAPL Nationals, one of which is the much anticipated 2010 U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship which takes place May 17-22 in the Royale Pavilion Pro Arena of the Riviera. The event has attracted an astounding list of 128 players from all over North America and across the globe vying for the $89,000 purse.
